The proposed new Medical Office Building and the new Hospital will be physically connected at all four levels with a shared double-height entry piece. This significant addition will expand the services Kaiser has been providing since 1980 at the existing 3-story Medical Office Building. All vertical circulation nodes at the new Medical Office Building are identified with curtain wall window system to optimize the use of natural daylight. The chemotherapy is strategically located correspondingly with the unbonded brace frame system along the northeastern facade. The storefront system will offer not just a healing opportunity for the chemotherapy patients but also becomes an architectural feature of the entire facade. The new boulevard defining the entry driveway is also an future farmers market for local community. A new central utility plant is also developed adjacent to the existing one to provide seamless integration. Wing was a Senior Designer of Chong Partners Architecture. |
